Introduction

Welcome to the Asia TOP place for paragliding. Linzhou Paragliding Association was founded in 1992. A team aiming at expanding the enthusiasm of the sport all over the country with a professional point of view. Since 1992 the association had sucessfully sponsored lots of paragliding competitions such as the 2nd The Strait Cup paragliding competition and excellent athlete competition in paragliding throughout China in Sept. 2004 and so on. The large scale international and domestic competitions like above-mentioned amounted to over 10 times. During the activities, the leaders at all levels had come for inspection by themselves. Furthermore, many reporters and editors from CCTV Peoples's Daily etc gave a profound and comprehensive description about those competitions. In 1997, 120 athletes from 18 director of State Physical Education Committee arrived at the spot himself. Especially in 2004, more than 50 athletes from 9 countries over 90 pilots attended the contest. Totally 200 people attended the competition. Apart from this, Oliver the chairman of the International paragliding committee, threw himself into the contest from start to end. His participation made Linzhou gain great reputation in international paragliding. So the international paragliding base in Linzhou has been the holy place for paragliding in China.

The club owns the first class international paragliding base in the world. Since 1992 it had organized a great many of international and domestic competitions and over 10 people acquired championship.

There's two way to goto Linzhou Paragliding Club, by air or by railway. Choose your way and contact us, we will pick you up and drive you to the club.

By air, you need to fly to Beijing airport(international pilot) or by domestic airline fly to Zhengzhou(China domestic pilot) airport. After landed in airport, Club car will drive you direct to the club. This needs arround 4-6 hours' drive from airport to club. Cost will be arround 80USD to 100USD.

By railway, you need to arrive An Yang Railway Station. The train will stop in An Yang Station for about 2 minutes. So be quickly off the train. Club car will drive you.  This will need arround 1 hour's drive from An Yang Railway Station to the club. Cost will be arround 15USD to 20USD.

Club have hostal for pilots (or their friends)only. Room number 201,202,203,208,301,302,303,308. Totally 8 rooms and 20+  beds. Cost will be 15USD/bed per day. You can also live in Linzhou Hotel the cost will be 30USD to 50USD per day.

We prefer Mid-class pilot or above fly Linzhou Paragliding Base. Beginner who want to try Linzhou will be recommanded follow their teacher or ask us for extra assist. Radio frequency is 456.0625Mhz. Fly season from March to November. Strong thermal season from May to June and the best season from Sept. to Oct. Club have car transportation service from Club to the D51 takeoff point. Cost will be 7USD one pilot. Linzhou Paragliding Club offer tandem fly service. Cost will be 70USD one flight.
About the thermal, we have 2-4 m/s thermal in very normal flying day, 6-8plus m/s thermal in a good flying day. Cloud base often can be 2000m in normal day and 2500+ in a good day.
Flying area is the East side of the big ridge(Flat area, roads and villages). No fly on the other side(West) of the ridge due to very difficult retrive(no road) and almost no village their.

Linzhou paragliding club use UHF handheld radio(400-470Mhz), you need permission or license by using radio equipments in China. For the mobile phone, we have both 2 mobile phone systems(GSM and CDMA) very good cover most area in Linzhou. You can ask club for rent or buy a GSM/CDMA sim card.
